OFT President Melissa Cropper Reacts to Steve Dackin's Selection as State Superintendent of Public Instruction

COLUMBUS — Ohio Federation of Teachers President Melissa Cropper released the following statement on Steve Dackin's selection today as state superintendent of public instruction.

“We are encouraged to see Steve Dackin selected as Ohio’s next state superintendent of education. Thanks to his decades of experience as a teacher, principal, superintendent, and Ohio State Board of Education member, we’re confident that Steve Dackin understands the challenges and opportunities inside our schools and will actively work to solve problems instead of inflame them with divisive rhetoric.

We look forward to finding common ground with Superintendent Dackin and helping Ohio’s students and schools succeed together.”
