OFT Poll: Sherrod Brown Leading in Senate Race

COLUMBUS — Sherrod Brown is narrowly leading the 2026 U.S. Senate race in Ohio with a 3-point advantage over GOP incumbent Jon Husted, according to polling conducted by Hart Research on behalf of the Ohio Federation of Teachers. The survey of 800 likely voters found that Brown has double digit leads with independent voters, moderate voters, suburban voters, and women.

A memo detailing the poll’s findings can be read here.

Brown, who represented Ohio in the Senate for 18 years, is also viewed much more favorably by Ohio voters than Husted. Brown has a net favorability rating of +7 (42% favorable, 35% unfavorable), compared with Husted’s rating of –3 (21% favorable, 24% unfavorable).

“From fighting against unfair trade agreements that hurt Ohio communities to bringing billions of additional dollars to Ohio schools, Sherrod Brown has an unparalleled track record of standing up for working people in Ohio, while Jon Husted has been too busy laughing with special interest lobbyists to stand up for workers,” said OFT President Melissa Cropper. “Ohio voters know who is on our side and who kowtows to the rich and powerful.”

OFT endorsed Sherrod Brown in October.
