Condemning Racism Should Not Be Controversial: Tell the State Board of Education That You Support Their Equity Resolution

In 2020, by a decisive 12-5 vote, the Ohio State Board of Education passed a resolution condemning racism and advancing equity. (You can read that resolution here.)

But now, that resolution is under attack from some Board members and legislators who do not believe that schools should proactively work to keep racism and hate speech out of our schools, or to advance equity and ensure that all Ohio students – no matter their race, religion, or background – have equal educational opportunities. There is even an effort to hold a new vote that would undo this historic resolution.

Contact the Board of Education today and tell them that you support their original July 2020 equity resolution. They are hearing from the loud but small minority of Ohioans who oppose this resolution; we need to make sure they hear from us also!
